What is Fair Share?

It is a best estimate of the share of costs for each student to have the necessary uniform/costume and equipment to participate for the designated season (does not include instrument). There are additional costs outside of fair share that may be mandatory for your student. It helps pay for the band & color guard outside of the classroom: salaries for the extra instructors, the field show we perform, the music we use, buying new instruments and repairing old ones, competition entry fees, buses to go to events, food for students on performance days, and more. We thank you for your contributions!

Band camp is July 29th - Aug. 9th from 1-9pm at La Mirada HS.  Band camp culminates with a Barbecue Fundraiser and performance for family and friends on the last day. It's at 6:30 p.m (this time could change). at La Mirada High School. There will be food for sale and a fundraising whipped-cream pie auction where students get to pie their instructors and student leaders.

School starts August 15th and we need to be ready for those Friday football games! Our first home game is Friday August 30th. What can you do as parents to help support the band? Plenty! We can’t run this band without our parents. We need help with football game snack bar staffing (a big income source), bleacher setup at football games, help with props, uniforms and food at marching competitions, and just being there to cheer our kids on. We’re looking forward to an educational, fun, and successful marching season!

Sincerely, Robert Stearns, Band Director and the LMHS Band Boosters Board
